As part of the limb ischemia research program, professor Jim Reekers is closely involved in the imaging and endovascular treatment of diabetic foot disease.  The focus is on amputation prevention, ulcer healing and quality of life. He was also involved in several (inter)national guidelines on treatment of  PAD and also diabetic foot disease. He is the author of more than 260 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and is recipient of several prestigious national and international awards. The most recent research focus is on patient selection and prediction models in diabetic foot disease based on basic physiology using perfusion angiography.
